The Potential of the Feminine Principle:

and the Re-emergence of the Goddess

What if (his)tory (as we know it) is really “his” story and not “her” story… “our” story? Virtually all of written (or so-called “modern”) history has been recorded by men and therefore through their “lens” or perspective. Even recent history is predominantly presented from the male perspective. When you stop to consider and then explore why and how, leaving the female half of humanity out of the dialog and disallowing women’s views was possible, an appalling pre-empted and co-opted historical reality emerges.

When you look deeper, however, you find answers that validate an ancient intuitive “knowing” about your story (women’s story), which reflects more balance and harmony on earth. This knowledge has literally been unearthed through fairly recent, yet overwhelming, archeological evidence that supports an amazing “her” story that has been obscured for thousands of years.

Pre-history, tells phenomenal tails through sacred images on cave walls, vessels, and figurines. There are also remnants of magnificent sanctuaries and temples of peace, partnership, balance between the sexes, deep connection with the earth and worship of the Mother Goddess.

Anyone who is truly interested in gaining a more accurate chronicle of the human journey and what might improve our current trajectory, would be wise to consider The Chalice and the Blade, by Riane Eisler, a “must read,” along with her other acclaimed and scholarly work. I suspect that notable references, such as mentioned in Eckhart Toole’s book, The New Earth, were drawn from Eisler’s in-depth research, which was also the primary resource for the Davinci Code.

Our primary mission as a species, as I see it, is to re-image and create a modern-day mythology, which is informed by our inspiring pre-history. This has the potential to restore a partnership paradigm, which was and can once again be, an obvious (to many) alternative to the “dominate and destroy” orientation, which has taken us on a “5,000-year dominator detour.”

The following images capture a reverence, deep connection, and sacred communion with Mother Earth that also acknowledges the Divine Feminine and the healing that needs to occur to create a “New Earth.”

Text Box: We, as a global community, can seize the opportunity to honor the earth’s beauty and remaining bounty by reconnecting, responding, and intimately communing and communicating from the heart with the pulse of the planet.

The lack of balance between male and female energies, war on nature, and alienation from our essential self, are exactly where I see the primary problems as well as the solutions to our global and spiritual crisis!

There are, thankfully, rapid changes taking place regarding what must occur for Mother Earth to survive. These changes seem to be more obvious among women than men.

As a psychologist working with women, I have focused on facilitating access to and the “resacralization” of, divine feminine energy and women’s innate wisdom. This energy, just might, save us as a species and Mother Earth!
